Advanced BET microporous and surface analysis system for ultraporous materials – metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) and aerogels
Autosorb 6100 (FKM seals, 2 measurement stations, 6 degas stations, MP–MP transducer set) — a compact high-vacuum gas sorption analyzer for precise BET surface area, pore volume and pore size distribution measurements from ultralow relative pressures up to near-saturation. Vacuum-volumetric principle, dedicated p0 station, and a robust vacuum system (turbomolecular + dry diaphragm). Standard features include six integrated degassing ports (two independent heating zones up to 450 °C), a 3-L LN2 Dewar (>90 h), PowderProtect sample protection, and Kaomi for Autosorb (DoseWizard). MP–MP denotes the instrument is equipped with MP-class pressure transducers per Anton Paar specs.
Equipment is made available in accordance with the ACMiN Research Infrastructure Usage Regulations. (https://acmin.agh.edu.pl/home/acmin/5_Wspolpraca/Aparatura/Zasady_i_koszty_korzystania_z_infrastruktury_badawczej_ACMiN.pdf)
- Full porous-material characterization: BET surface area, pore size distributions (0.35–500 nm), pore volume, micropore/mesopore analysis.
- Water and organic vapor isotherms, provided the vapor species are compatible with the sealing (FKM (VITON)) material.
- Isotherm/kinetics measurements with multiple analysis gases (N₂, CO₂; possibility to configure up to 3 another gases).
- Resolution: 2×10⁻⁵ Torr
- BET detection limits: absolute ≈0.1 m² (N₂ 77 K), specific ≈0.01 m²/g (N₂ 77 K); typical reproducibility ≈1 % (BAM P115). Pore size range: 0.35–500 nm.
- 6 integrated degas stations, 2 independent heating zones up to 450 °C; automated degas profiles.
- LN₂ Dewar (>90 h) for 77 K N₂; CryoSync for high-precision cryogenic temperature control (e.g. ~87 K for Ar).
