Trade name
MTS Acumen 3 electrodynamic test system
Technical description

The electrodynamic machine allows tensile and compression tests and fatigue tests on machine components and samples made of metal, rubber, foam, plastic and composites at frequencies of up to 100 Hz. Testing of impact phenomena is also possible. Working area width: 460 mm, working area depth: 501 mm, maximum height of working area: 819 mm

The machine is equipped with 2 force sensors: 3kN and 250 N. The 3kN sensor has a built-in accelerometer. The machine has compression tables and pneumatic grips for compression-tension tests. The pneumatic grips have flat wedges and wedges for round specimens.

Measurement capabilities

The machine allows for quasistatic and dynamic tensile and compression tests of flat or round specimens with zero crossing. This is made possible by pneumatic grips with adjustable clamping force and equipped with wedges for flat and round specimens. Cyclic testing of the crosshead displacement function over time is possible: sinusoidal sweep, rectangular sweep, trapezoidal sweep, fixed amplitude sweep and frequency sweep. Customised waveforms can also be specified.
