“Copper Boat” induction heater

Trade name
“Copper Boat” induction heater EDMUND BUEHLER GmbH
Technical description

The device is used for the synthesis of conductive materials through the induction heating of components in a “copper boat" cooled with water, placed in a quartz tube. A set of vacuum pumps (rotary oil pump and turbomolecular pump) allows operation under high vacuum or in an atmosphere of inert gas. The charge placed on the cooled copper substrate is inductively heated using a high-frequency generator.

Device parameters:

  • Weight of the charge material: max. 20g
  • Temperature range up to 1800°C
  • Attainable vacuum: 10^-2 to 10^-5 mbar
  • Maximum furnace power: 12kW
  • Frequency of the induction generator: 70kHz to 150kHz
