Pyrolizer
Pyrolysis is heating large complex molecules in the absence of air to break them down into smaller, more analytically available fragments. Combined with GC/MS, pyrolysis enables quantitative and qualitative analysis of complex samples without extended extraction or derivatization procedures.
In addition, the device offers multi-stage temperature programming. The first step of the analysis temperature below 350 °C allows the extraction of volatile and semi-volatile compounds for analysis before pyrolysis of the remaining polymer. This is invaluable for detecting solvents as well as residual polymer monomers and additives
