Technical description

Vibrating sample magnetometer, LakeShore 7407 VSM, is equipped with continuous flow cryostat and owen. It is capable to probe DC magnetization as a function of temperature and external magnetic field. Temperature dependent measurements can be performer in the range from 77 K to 1273 K under external field up to 1.6 Tesla. At room temperature the maximum field is up to 2.5 Tesla. It features also angular dependent measurements. It is suitable to probe solid (powder and crystalline) materials, liquids and thin films. At room temperature the maximum mass and dimension can reach up to 10 mm (linear) and 10 g. At variable temperatures the linear dimensions are limited to 5mm.  Liquid samples can be probed in the temperature range from 77 K to 450 K.
