Agile mobile robot
Spot is a walking, autonomous mobile robot equipped with five stereo cameras that enable it to avoid obstacles and navigate difficult terrain. The robot is capable of operating autonomously, collecting data, integrating with measurement devices, and remote communication. Additionally, the mobile platform has been equipped by the research team with an integrated diagnostic module, which extends the research functionality of the mobile platform.
In the case of projects/grants conducted in cooperation with other AGH departments/groups and external organizations, in which the device operator/attendant is a member of the team publishing the research results the infrastructure is made available free of charge. The use of device is possible in the presence of the operator/attendant and by persons who have operating skills confirmed by head of the department.
Inspection of industrial environments, including non-destructive testing
Terrain mapping and semantic segmentation
Exploration of unknown areas
Cognitive algorithms and autonomous decision-making
Transport of research equipment
Manipulation tasks (when equipped with a manipulator)
The robot is equipped with a custom-designed inspection module consisting of a thermal camera, an acoustic camera, a LiDAR sensor, a 360 camera, a methane sensor, and an on-board computer.
The robot can be equipped with other sensors, such as a laser scanner.
The mobile platform includes CORE IO and GXP expansion modules, which allow for easy integration of measurement equipment. The type of equipment is limited only by its weight (and volume) and power requirements.
